Research & Publications

The Vanier Institute of the Family produces and distributes timely, high quality research and analysis – in English and in French – on a wide range of topics concerning family well-being in Canada. It publishes research papers, policy briefs, and fact sheets as well as Transition magazine. In addition, the Institute commissions work from noted academics and practitioners.

The Vanier Institute is the only national research institute that speaks to issues as they affect and are affected by families and individual family members from a perspective that embraces the diversity of family life. Its understanding of family stresses the primary functions and activities of families, such as providing for the health and well-being of family members; raising children; and sustaining the economy through the production, exchange and consumption of goods and services.
