How do you file for divorce

In India, a divorce is known as ‘Sakshadati’. There are several ways to effect such a development:(a). By mutual consent. In such a case, both partners consent to the split, and neither has any right to force the other to leave the marriage. This can be done through a registered court or through mediation.(b). By court order. In this case, the court will issue a directive to both spouses to end their marriage.(c). By declaration before a court. In this case, both spouses have to take an oath before the court to tell the truth about their marriage and their relationship with each other. If one of the partners breaks this oath and tries to malign the reputation of the other one, then that spouse can be arrested.(d). By filing a FIR (first information report) in police station or nearest magistrate’s court with concurrence of both spouses before taking any legal actions in family courts.
